Shelter in the Storm
I hope you are enjoying this Bible Study. This is certainly the time for a series on the storms of life. Our current storm is very personal, and yet it is being felt all around the world.
In the past few weeks, we have watched as the Corona Virus became the number one topic on the news. At first, we laughed at the run on toilet paper. Now we check the store in frustration and shake our heads at the empty shelves. Hoarding is so wrong. God gave us common sense. We do need to be prepared for what is coming. But we don't need to hoard.
Here in Georgia, we have watched as faded green bled across the map showing the spread of the dread disease. Elbert county is a small white space surrounded by counties with 1 or more cases. Today, the Governor announced stricter measures to force people to shelter in place. Schools will not reopen this year.
Many churches have resorted to online services. Those who have not, have risked the spread of infection. As Easter nears, you might shake your head and say that Satan has finally won. Easter will be cancelled. But I want you to remember that Easter is not just a special worship Sunday at church where we all gather for Sunrise service. It is certainly not an egg hunt, nor a cute bunny with a basket of chocolate eggs.
Easter is when Christ, our Savior, who died on the cross to save us from our sins, beat death and the grave and arose on the third day. Easter is ours. Satan cannot change it. He cannot ruin it. He can not take it away.
Praise God, Christ is Risen and He is right here with us as we go through this storm.
